As promised, this post is the continuation of the original post made on this blog, on April 27,2007.
Please read the previous post, before reading this one.
I hope you enjoy them both!
Let's begin!
In 2007, my life expectancy was 74 years – due to the national life expectancy statistic for Jamaican women – 74 years. (The life expectancy statistic for Jamaican men, was 72 years at that time.)
In 2030, however, a woman’s life expectancy is 150 years, and a man, 148 years. 100-year olds look like the young 45 year-olds of 2007.
People are waiting until much later to have children - in their 50’s and 60’s; preferring to travel and “enjoy” life before committing to a family of their own.
My kids are in college in Jamaica, but they travel, virtually, to different campuses in the Americas, Asia and Europe, experiencing campus life and life in these countries, as if they were living in these countries.
10 years ago, in 2020, pensions systems, worldwide, went haywire, as a result of people’s new retirement age being lifted to 130 years. (In 2007 it was between 65-75 years old.) This mayhem was eventually corrected, but the fallout wasn’t pretty, as many were unprepared for this new age of retirement.
Insurance schemes also had to be revamped as a result of the revised life expectancy statistics for both men and women.
Sheila, my All-In-One robot, helps me to keep tabs on my kids…Marlon, the boy, is 21 and Jennifer, the girl, is 18. Sheila can connect to New Internet Geographic Position Locators, which can pin-point my kids’ exact location, no matter where they are in the world.
She also provides me with real-time updates on their health. I can even tell when their adrenaline rate is extremely high - signalling fear or excitement.
(You may be wondering why I'm keeping tabs on adults. Well, although my kids are 18 and 21 years' old, and would have been considered young adults in 2007, in 2030, they are considered toddlers, in that they have the energy levels of 2-3 year olds, but have the brains of the 18 and 21 year-olds of 2007.
This causes a lot of conflict, both psychologically and emotionally...typical of the conflicts in the adolescents of 2007.
This is just is one of the drawbacks of us humans living longer, and being new to the fact...we haven't yet learned how to synchronize age, mental ability, maturity and energy levels.)
If I’m thinking about them and I see a blacked-out screen on New Internet Communication Portal (which allows virtual video/New Internet-conferencing), I know they’re not to be disturbed and I usually leave them alone, except if the signal is fear and I know they’re not skydiving or skeet-jumping.
[Skeets are self-propelled suits that allow humans to fly up to 40 feet into the air and for about 3 miles. (There is initial fear in trying them out, but high levels of adrenaline on mastering the art of flying them).
The kids, worldwide, are going crazy over them and often have competitions to see who can get to their various destinations, the fastest.
Crazy kids, one nearly bumped into me on my way to an off-site meeting – I have one too :). I feel like I’m 8, but I’m actually 50 years old.]
My husband, is traveling to New Earth, tomorrow, virtually.
It’s a new planet discovered in 2007, that is a bit smaller than earth, but can maintain human life…he’s one of the New Internet Freelance Engineers, who designed a series of humanoid robots, that have been doing navigational work on the planet, since 2028.
These special robots look human and can sense (feel, taste, smell, etc.) like a human being. Since they can sense like us, they are good gauges to determine, if we can actually live on New Earth, for prolonged periods of time, i.e. over 3600 years.
In 2007, some humans had problems with other humans who lived an alternative lifestyle. In 2030, we’re concerned about humanoid-human sexual relationships.
Background:
Because creativity has been restricted to humans, humanoids were devoid of an imagination. They just did as they were instructed.
Because of this, they were previously unattractive to humans as potential life and sexual companions. However, evidence from New Internet is proving that these humanoids, may in fact, be creative.
Continuing:
Last week, two teens – one human, one humanoid, tried to consummate their relationship –usually thought unthinkable as the sex organs of humanoids were purposely underdeveloped.
Well, these two “teens” actually succeeded at consummating their relationship (there was physical evidence)…and the human girl, actually told a New Internet News crew that her humanoid boyfriend, had very human reactions during the act. He even innovated new positions, she thought was “sway out”- teen slang for “cool”.
(Humanoids can be cloned and engineered from tissue samples, but can’t reproduce sexually –or so we thought.)
So New Internet Freelance Engineers, in addition to having their own “regular” jobs to be concerned about, have one more “problem” on their hands…and they’re anxious to solve it quickly.
We humans can’t afford to have new beings in our system, that we can’t control…that may make us extinct. And everyone on New Internet has some opinion re this new occurrence.
The strange thing is that when Sheila relayed the news to me, she started to act all weird.
It’s like she was secretly cheering the new intellectual capability of the humanoid.
Hmmh!!…Tomorrow, I definitely have to ask her opinion re this new occurrence and gauge her response.
As for now, I’m disconnecting from Sheila and New Internet…got to go do some jogging, in real, fresh, air, with RW, my dog...

In the following weeks and months I will continue to give you insights into the world in 2030…hope you’ve enjoyed reading the preview given.
If you have, please don’t hesitate to let me know, ok?
And if you haven’t, please also let me know, too,ok?
Either way, I’d love us to have discussions re your thoughts about the future. Please leave your comments, by clicking on the Comment link below, or by emailing me.
Thanks in advance.
