Intelligence agencies hire code breakers to decipher codes transmitted nationally and internationally, that may be a threat to national security.
According to Mashable article, "British Intelligence Agency Recruits via Twitter and Facebook", the British Intelligence Agency, GCHQ, used to recruit game developers and players, as it was once thought that they had the requisite skills needed to perform this function, optimally.
However, the British Intelligence Agency has changed tactic somewhat and is finding new recruits via Twitter and Facebook.
Read why they're doing this and how you can position yourself to work the British government, if you have these skills, here.
If you want to know about the history of code breaking and how to become a code breaker, please check out David Khan's book, re same, here.
It is called,"The Codebreakers: The Comprehensive History of Secret Communication from Ancient Times to the Internet".
I would like to thank brewbooks for the use of their Flickr inset picture called, "The Code Breakers Library of National Cryptologic Museum".
David Khan's book, "The Codebreakers", is featured in this picture).
