$1.99 iPhone app saved Oscars film - Video - Technology

Apps rule!

They're displacing legacy business models and making some companies obsolete!

Here's how one director (Malik Bendjelloul), found a $1.99 app that could do the work of very expensive film for a Super8 video camera, costing hundreds of US dollars.

The resultant film quality was the same as that of the camera and helped him get nominated and selected for Best Documentary at the Oscars!
