Geekwire is reporting that the friendship between Tim Allen and Bill Gates may be restored, after a year-long rift.
These two (2) friends and co-founders of Microsoft, became estranged when Allen, in his recent book, "Idea Man: A Memoir by the Cofounder of Microsoft
", described, in detail, the eccentric personality of his long-time friend and business partner - Bill Gates.
Much to the chagrin of Gates.
(Both Tim Allen And Bill Gates formed Microsoft in 1975).
Tim Allen...being hopeful that the friendship has been restored, reported to Geekwire that Gates had expressed condolences at the passing of Allen's mother, Faye Allen in June and that Gates had visited Allen on Allen's yacht, while it was moored in London, during the London Olympics.
To this end, we dedicate the above video and song, "How 'Bout Us" by Champaign, to both men...in the hope that they will continue to remain good friends, despite the blunders in their friendship:
Allen settled for less than 50% stake in Microsoft due to him feeling at the time, that Gates had done more work than he had, in building the company and had followed Gates' ill-advice to sell his AOL shares in the 90's...shares that are now worth $40 billion.
======Note to Entrepreneurs ======
Please be very careful from whom you get financial and legal advice when starting and growing your business or company.
A well-thought out business or company structure is essential to your getting your rightful share when you form a business or company with other co-founders.
Lack of due diligence in this area, can prove to be financially disastrous for both you and your business...as the above example shows.
