Research in Motion's 2011 BlackBerry Developers Challenge is in full swing!
(Research in Motion are the manufacturers of BlackBerry phones).
The 2011 BlackBerry Developers Challenge ("the Challenge"), which is in its 4th year, is:
1) Named, the "BlackBerry Partners Fund™ Developer Challenge for BlackBerry® Developers"
2) Open to contestants from the four (4) global regions in which BlackBerry operates: North America, Latin America, Europe/Middle East/Africa and Asia Pacific.
Contestants are being encouraged to use their creativity to develop mobile apps for the BlackBerry Smartphone or Playbook, or to enter existing apps that they have already developed.
(Apps that can return US thousands to millions of dollars if marketed properly...marketing that will be jump-started, if you're a finalist in the Challenge!)
The Challenge consists of three (3) contests:
1) Best Adobe Flash®/AIR app
2) Most Innovative BlackBerry WebWorks™ app on the BlackBerry PlayBook and BlackBerry 6
3) Most Addictive social app using the BBM™ Social Platform...however, this contest will not be available until in the Summer.
To enter the Challenge, you must:
1) Register and be accepted by Research In Motion Limited as a BlackBerry App World developer.
2) Sign up for the Challenge:

All winners of the 2011 BlackBerry Partners Fund Developer Challenge will be recognized at the 2011 BlackBerry Developer Conference (DEVCON), October 18 - 20 in San Francisco.
Over US $3 million in prizes will be given out this year. Prizes include media press packages, App World carousel placements, Associate to Elite level Alliance Membership, trips to and accommodation at DEVCON, BlackBerry Smartphones, Playbooks and Gift Certificates.
