Please read our previous post related to this topic, here, as it provides a background to the following:
The fraud case for CEO of the failed alternative investment scheme, Cash Plus, his brother Bertram Hill and Cash Plus former Financial Controller - Peter Wilson, was called up in the Half-Way-Tree Resident Magistrate's Court today.
They are charged with obtaining money by false pretence and conspiracy to defraud.
However, Carlos Hill is charged separately for inducing people to invest.
The prosecutor asked that:
1) The case be moved from the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate Court to the Supreme Court...
...This would allow the case to be heard by a judge and jury.
2) Mr. Hill stand trial for this charge first, before any other charge.
He would get the maximum of seven (7) years if found guilty on this charge.
The fraud case will be up for mention again on September 20.
In the meantime, Carlos Hill, Bertram Hill and Peter Wilson have had their bail extended until that time.
